The hotel is situated in a lovely spot great for walking, but the room was small and tired, leading to a less-than-ideal stay. The service was friendly, although there seemed to be some stress and lack of organization. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District but may get noisy at times. The dining experience had its ups and downs, and the facilities were satisfactory overall.
Rooms
5.0
The room was small and tired and wasn't cleaned during our 5-night stay, which affected our comfort. It was also noisy due to its proximity to the pub entrance and restaurant below, making relaxation a challenge.
Service

However, there were signs of stress and understaffing that affected the overall service experience.
Location

The location was great for walking and easy access to various parts of the Lake District, although noise levels increased later in the day. Being at the foot of Helvellyn and near Thirlmere was a plus.
Dining

The dining experience had its highs and lows; while some dishes were enjoyable, there were instances of poorly cooked items and inattentive staff. A mixed experience overall.
Facilities

The facilities offered were satisfactory for our needs, providing the basic amenities but nothing extraordinary.

The hotel offers cosy rooms with warm ambiance above the cellar, providing scenic views of the mountains. Service was prompt and attentive, making our stay special. The location is perfect for exploring nearby areas and offers a friendly atmosphere. The dining options were of good quality despite limited full English breakfast. Overall, a pleasant stay with some minor drawbacks.
